Getting cooled!

Oh dear God!
I am sick again... hating when get sick, no mood and with out mood I am piece of dead meat, boring!

HP netbook not picking up WIFI signal...help!!!?

Okay so I have been successfully connected to my homes wireless Internet for the past year and a half. I also own a desktop computer that is plugged directly into the router and has not been affected by this problem. Two days ago my net-book simply stopped Connecting to the wifi and is now displaying a red X on the signal bar and telling me that no wireless connections are available. I know this is untrue as my i phone is picking up the signal from anywhere in the house. Today I placed my net book near the router and after approximately 15 minutes it connected, however when i moved to another room I was again told that no wireless connections could be found. Its really annoying
Any info or suggestions would be appreciated thanks so much

Sound like your notebook wireless adapter has problem maybe its broken or losing the antenna. How ever try to re install your Wireless driver.

Wikipedia to go dark in SOPA protest, Twitter declines

January 16, 2012, 11:19 PM — Wikipedia has decided to black out the English version of the online encyclopedia for 24 hours on Wednesday to protest against controversial legislation in the U.S., following a cue given by some other Internet sites including social news site Reddit which will black out its site for 12 hours on the same day.

Twitter's CEO Dick Costolo however said in a message on Twitter that "Closing a global business in reaction to single-issue national politics is foolish". He later clarified that he was talking about Twitter and not about Wikipedia's decision.

Wikimedia Foundation said on Monday that the Wikipedia community had chosen to black out its English version to protest against the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) in the U.S. House of Representatives, and the Protect IP Act (PIPA) in the U.S. Senate.

Zappos says customer database hacked

Online shoe seller Zappos.com says a hacker may have accessed the personal information of up to 24 million customers.

The company says customers' credit card and payment information was not stolen. But names, phone numbers, email addresses, billing and shipping addresses, the last four digits from credit cards and more may have been accessed in the attack.

Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh alerted employees and customers of the cyber-attack in an email on Sunday that is posted on the company's website.

hi my friend send me a virus he said that he can understand what i do in my pc within 3 second and he said the last 3 word of my email password i change my windows and i format all my hard drives in windows installation and i change the sizes i install many antivirus and they said there is no virus but when i scan my pc with my norton it says tracking cookies when it cleans them they comeback

improve your windows security, you can search how to improve windows security and change your password "Create strong passwords" never ever download virus!
anyway, the way your friend talking sounds like bluffing to me.

Laptop got virus and I am trying to run Norton on Safe Mode?

My friend brought me her laptop to fix. The problem is that I cannot go past the opening screen on safe mode. I have access to advanced tools and I was trying to use the command line to run Norton. She has Windows 7. I went online and found the "navwnt32" and "doscan" commands, but they don't seem to work out. What am I doing wrong? (sorry, haven't done any computer languages since high school, so your help would be highly appreciated).

Additional Details

I cannot download it because I cannot even reach the point where I can have access to the windows applications (let alone internet). It just stops at the point where it trying on safe mode to correct the problem - it doesn't even go beyond the windows welcome screen in normal mode. In other words, it's pretty bad :S

I was used AVG free edition before in safe mode. Its nice and help me before.

Facebook on track for one billion users in 2012

January 15, 2012, 7:43 AM — A billion. With a "B". That is how many people on planet Earth will be using theFacebook social network by sometime around August this year.

Facebook revealed at its F8 conference in September that it had reached the milestone of 800 million users. iCrossing, an online analytics firm, has examined the trends at Facebook, and extrapolated the growth to project that Facebook will pass one billion users in August -- August 12 to be precise.

iCrossing says Facebook growth has slowed to a crawl in countries like the United States and United Kingdom. It points out in a blog post, though, that emerging markets are more than making up the difference. According to iCrossing, India has added 14 million users, and Brazil another seven million, just in the past nine months.

Admittedly, "trillion" is the new "billion", and the capital "B" has lost some of its swagger in recent years. But, when your'e talking about the number of people connected online to a single social network, "billion" still has an impressive ring to it.

New Intel chip takes fast jabs at iPhone, Galaxy Nexus

Intel's new chip for phones is surprising in many respects, but the biggest shocker is speed.

The "Medfield" Atom Z2460 chip for smartphones, announced at CES, handily beats some of the fastest phones on the market, review site Anandtech said in this post.

Is this fast enough to be smartphone-market disruptive? Will battery life measure up? Only Lenovo and Motorola know for sure (Anandtech thinks Medfield will be fine on battery life). One thing is for certain, though: neither of those companies are signing up for Medfield out of pity, as Anand Shimpi points out.

And--another shocker--the results that Anandtech cites are not that different from a bar-graph slide (below) that CEO Paul Otellini showed at a Credit Suisse Annual Technology Conference back in November. (I should add that I had somebody whispering in my ear before CES to take those benchmarks seriously. Alas, I didn't.)

If the results hold up for the upcoming Lenovo K800 smartphone (and Motorola's unannounced phones), Intel-based phones should offer stalwarts like the iPhone 4S and Samsung's Galaxy Nexus some headline-grabbing competition.

"Although running what appears to be a stock Gingerbread browser, Intel's Medfield reference platform posts SunSpider performance better than any other smartphone we've tested--including the Galaxy Nexus running Ice Cream Sandwich," said Anandtech. And those results should be maintained for Atom on Ice Cream Sandwich.

How do I install Skype in WINE?

It downloads, but once I get to the installation part, it won't install and I need to force quit. The Linux client's been dead for years, so is there any way to make the Windows client work in WINE?

How many partition do you have? if you had one partition on your system its not possible to do If you mean re install by register, but you can plug your HDD to other system with windows as second HDD and open your HDD and recover your data.

Can the USB port on a router power a fan?

Or charge an iPod for that matter. Just wondering because I'm thinking about buying a router that some people say runs really hot, and I was hoping to cool it with a USB fan.

Yes you can but in my opinion better dont use the router USB port for only power supply and the better way is buy a USB hub which has external power supply.

Antenna in wifi modem is for boost the Wifi range and any machine with out antennacan send/receive wave but very very poor and if you want it be rich you should add antenna. different antenna different result.
if you want stop your wifi you have change your router setting and OFF the wifi.

AMCAP On my computer question?

My fathers webcam won't let him change the settings. So he is buying a new one. My question is can he delete the AMCAP files? He says he thinks it is part of the old camera on the computer. He has windows 7. Or is this part of his windows 7 files?

Where is the location of "AMCAP" file?
You can not delete any system file, Its not safe to delete any program file, better letwindows uninstaller program to do it for you.
only those folder made by user can be delete by user.

Satelite L675-01R or Macbook Pro?

what computer works best for graphic design? i ahve the toshiba satelite and use it for 3d modeling/rendering and have use the whole photoshop line with no problems. but my uni program i'm in wants me to have a macbook pro. i see it as a waste of money if i already have a good enough computer.

As your university ask, Macbook is more popular for graphic design and actually Mac computers handle graphics better.
please note macbook run Mac OS and Satelite run Windows or Linux and they are very different.
Anyway, university ask and you should follow! (most student have this problem "waste money" such as me)

Replace your graphic card, i can not say is 100% graphic card error because in some case can be motherboard or power supply, graphic card is a testy in power part of computer.

Should be no problem, unless you are opening many programs although using Skyrimin High Resolution.
Intel Core i7-2600 processor is one of the fastest CPU but it dose not mean you can running a lot programs at same time.

What would be the easiest way to allow users to sign an online petition?

How could I allow users to sign there name onto an online petition... What I am thinking is if they want to sign it they fill out a short form to fill out their name, age,City, and State information. I do not use my laptop as a portable device. Should I simply remove the battery and never use it?

Many laptop users have this question and we will answer it right now:
The answer is: YES and NO, it depends on the situation.

Having a battery fully charged and the laptop plugged in is not harmful, because as soon as the charge level reaches 100% the battery stops receiving charging energy and this energy is bypassed directly to the power supply system of the laptop.

However there's a disadvantage in keeping the battery in its socket when the laptop is plugged in, but only if it's currently suffering from excessive heating caused by thelaptop hardware.

check your internet speed, while using network you have 2 kind of speed one is for revive (download) and another for send (upload). always upload speed is less than download and when you upload (like attached file) is slow than you download the file.

Bootcamp Question??? Please Help?

I recently got a macbook pro for graduation. I have 500mb of space and there are a few games that I want to play now that I have some processing power but they don't have a download for mac. I have heard about Bootcamp being able to load a new OS such as Windows XP, Vista, or 7. Is this the best option? I also heard something about people using Wine or Wineskin. I don't really know what that is about. I really liked XP back in the day. Would that be a waste to get and put on my system?

You can use some virtual program "such as VirtualBox" to install Windows in Mac OS, that means while you using your Mac Os you can use your Windows or other OS too like a program. They crate virtual system and you can install any kind of OS you like. they provide setting and you can adjust RAM, HDD and etc up to your usage.
Or you can download some program which help Mac OS to run Windows program such as WINE but they not provide Windows desktop.

Can't use backspace on keyboard?

Everything worked perfectly fine before.. I didn't click on anything, I was just typing happily you know like my usual days and then somehow I can't use backspace at all.. I must have done something.

I tried googling but there was nothing apart from going tools on Microsoft Word (which I can't find , I have 2007 one I think). But I wasn't even using Word so it can't be that can it?

Using logitech with cable thingy. Only backspace that doesn't work in any programs. If it's broken then why does everything else work?

what kind of keyboard are you using? (laptop or external)

test your key at other program, in note or even in browser address bar.

If you face same problem in all programs too, clean your keyboard gently maybe something is under the key, still same it means the key is broken.

Additional :
At keyboard have one board and each key separately connected to board if board damage all key be fail but if connection between key and board discount only that key fail.

Dust / small object under key can discount key or bad usage, bad quality also same.
