Why is uploading photos so slow?

It is taking up to 5 mins to attach one photo to an e mail. Why ?

check your internet speed, while using network you have 2 kind of speed one is for revive (download) and another for send (upload). always upload speed is less than download and when you upload (like attached file) is slow than you download the file.
